India added a record 1.9 gigawatts of rooftop solar capacity in the first nine months of calendar year 2024, primarily driven by the PM – Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana initiative. This contributed nearly 85% of installations during the quarter. In 9M 2024, Gujarat led the rooftop solar installations, accounting for over 38%. Maharashtra and Kerala followed, accounting for almost 16% and 11% respectively.
